Obscurify uses Spotify to give you stats that reveal the truth about your music taste. Are you mainstream or alternative?
We've always wondered how alternative our music taste really is and now Obscurify breaks it down for us with actual stats.
It's no secret that everyone has different listening habits. Some people pride themselves on how unique they are, others are happy to embrace the fact that they love all things mainstream, and then there are those of us who enjoy an eclectic mix of pop, hip-hop, rock, country, indie and everything in between. Is your perception of your taste actually accurate though?

Obscurify is an exciting online feature that analyses what you listen to on Spotify and tells you how alternative you are.
How do I use Obscurify and how does it work?
To use Obscurify all you have to do is visit: obscurifymusic.com. You then log in, using your Spotify account, and the website goes through all the music you listen to on a daily basis and, based on how popular each song you've played is, it works out how obscure your listening habits and gives you an exact percentage that reveals how alternative you are.

If that weren't iconic enough, the site also tells you your top 10 genres, your most popular artists, the mood of your listening habits and it even gives you recommendations of songs to try out. The mood section in particular is pretty fancy in that it is able to tell how happy, energetic, danceable and acoustic your taste is in comparison to the rest of the world.
