The Weeknd, Hayley Williams and Rina Sawayma are just a few of the stars who the Grammys snubbed in their 2021 nominations.

The 2021 Grammy nominations have finally been announced and, as always, some huge artists have been left out this time.

Yesterday (Nov 25), the Grammys unveiled the nominations for their 2021 ceremony. Beyoncé, Dua Lipa and Taylor Swift led the pack with beloved stars like Megan Thee Stallion, Chloe x Halle and Harry Styles earning their first-ever nominations at the awards ceremony. The show will take place on January 31st 2020. We cannot wait to see who takes home the awards.

However, it would be an awards ceremony without snubs. Here are just 10 of the artists who were left off of the 2021 list.

1) The Weeknd

Arguably the most shocking snub this year is The Weeknd. Over 12 months, the 30-year-old singer has been an unstoppable force on the charts. 'Heartless' and 'Blinding Lights' were both Number 1 singles and After Hours is one of his most critically acclaimed albums to date.

Reacting to the news, The Weeknd tweeted: "The Grammys remain corrupt. You owe me, my fans and the industry transparency..."

2) Hayley Williams

Paramore have only ever been nominated for four Grammy awards so it's not a surprise to see Hayley Williams get snubbed but that doesn't make it any less disappointing. Her debut solo album Petals for Armor is easily one of the most interesting and exciting releases of the year.

Ever a humble icon Hayley tweeted: "stop sending me sorry's for not getting a nom LOL pmore been nominated lots and even won. thank you for your sweetness but stop! the women leading the rock and alt nom's are THE story and the moment."

3) Rina Sawayama

Anyone who's been paying close attention to music lately knows that Rina Sawayama is one of the most important artists in the industry right now. Not only does she push the boundaries of pop on her debut album SAWAYAMA but she also puts on an incredible show. There's no question that she deserved a Best New Artist nomination.

In response to the backlash over her lack of nominations, Rina tweeted: "i love u all so much !!!!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ i'm grateful for u, and am v vvvv grateful for everything this year in such difficult times !! i'm just excited to give u more new music !!!!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️."

4) FKA Twigs

FKA Twigs never fails to impress and her sophomore album Magadelene was met with pretty much universal critical acclaim. Experimental, emotional and captivating, it had Grammy-nominated record written all over it.

Twigs hasn't addressed the lack of nominations but fans have taken to Twitter to express their frustration.

5) BLACKPINK

K-Pop is notoriously overlooked at the Grammys. BTS have only just earned their first nomination at the ceremony for their English-language song 'Dynamite' and BLACKPINK are nowhere to be seen on this year's list. With two hit singles in the eligibility period, fans were hoping that they would get some attention or a Best New Artist nomination at least.

One fan tweeted: "it’s not blackpink’s loss, it’s the grammys’ loss".

6) Halsey

The Grammys have a history of overlooking Halsey's contributions to music and this year is no different. Manic is one of the best-selling albums of 2020 and features hits including 'Without Me', 'Graveyard' and 'You should be sad'. It's unclear why she's been ignored again.

Never one to dwell on what could have been, Halsey congratulated Phoebe Bridgers on her nominations. She tweeted: "holy fuck @phoebe_bridgers !!!!!!!!!".

7) Kehlani

Kehlani is one of the most consistent voices in R&B right now. Whether she's releasing hit music of her own or hopping on a feature, fans can't get enough of her signature tone. Her latest Top 2 album, It Was Good Until It Wasn't, is easily one of the standout records of the year.

And it wasn't just Kehlani who was snubbed in the R&B category. Teyana Taylor point out that she, Kehlani, Brandy., H.E.R., Summer Walker, Victoria Monét, Jhene Aiko, JoJo, Ari Lennox, SZA and Tinashe all missed out on nominations.

8) Mac Miller

After being nominated for Best Rap Album for Swimming in 2019, Mac Miller fans were hoping that the late rapper would get a nomination for his posthumous album Circles. The protect received glowing reviews from critics and is regarded by many as one of his best works.

One fan tweeted: "Mac Miller deserved at least one nomination for Circles."

9) Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez has never received any Grammy nominations but fans hoped that her first Number 1 single 'Lose You to Love Me' would change things. The song featured on many Best Songs of 2019 lists thanks to Selena's raw vocals. Her latest LP Rare also received the best reviews of her career.

Selena hasn't reacted to the news but a fan tweeted: "despite being one of her most personal songs ever, the one that didn’t need radio to score her 1st number #1 on bb100, #GRAMMYs still snubbed selena gomez AGAIN".

10) Miley Cyrus

It's likely that Miley Cyrus won't go into full Grammys campaign mode until next year when her new album Plastic Hearts is eligible. However, she did submit 'Midnight Sky' in Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance only for it to get snubbed in all three.

Given that 'Midnight Sky' has been regarded by many as her best to date, it's a shame to see it not get any nods. One fan tweeted: "the grammys snubs miley every year i swear".
