The rapper said a former team member still had access to her Facebook page - but still neglected to apologise for it.
Cardi B has been called out by fans for sharing a transphobic meme to her Facebook account.
Yesterday (September 16), a meme appeared on Cardi's official verified account which showed an edited screenshot from the Cartoon Network show Ed, Edd n Eddy alongside the caption, "I hope nobody see this tr***y leave my house."
The meme has since been deleted, but was up for at least an hour - long enough for her fans to call her out on the offensive transphobic language used in the meme.

A few hours later, Cardi tweeted an explanation as to why the meme appeared on her page, saying: "It's come to my attention that there have been offensive posts made on what used to be my Facebook page. For the past year and a half a FORMER team member has been the only one with access to the account."
In the tweet, Cardi also says that the Facebook account is old but it's the only verified Cardi B page and still appears to be posting recent personal pictures from Cardi's Instagram account regularly.

People took to Twitter to call her out on it further, suggesting that she apologise for it and denounce the slur and nature of the meme even if it wasn't her that posted it.
U should prob still apologize for it. The post is dangerous.. especially since trans women are targets for violence. It was inappropriate.

I am a huge advocate for free speech but as long as its socially acceptable to make jokes about trans people, to make and share memes disparaging & demeaning trans folks, trans folks will continue to be murdered &denied civil rights. #TransIsBeautiful #transrightsarehumanrights

Re: Cardi’s post? I’m cisgender and I encourage other cis folks to listen to trans folks on this subject.

Listen. Even if true. It’s still the fault of you and your new team for leaving your name and image in the hands of those who no longer work for you.

Damage control without an apology?

INTERESTING. https://t.co/XuFZnUToH2
While she has denied having anything to do with the meme, fans have noted that it's not the first time Cardi has been called out for using offensive language.
Back in May, Cardi apologised to the LGBTQ+ community for using slurs in the past, saying that she "wasn’t aware that they are offensive to the LGBT community."
I know i have use words before that i wasn’t aware that they are offensive to the LGBT community .I apologize for that .Not everybody knows the correct “terms “to use.I learned and i stopped using it.

It now appears that Cardi's official Facebook page is back under her control.
