Rihanna, Drake, The Wanted and One Direction are all nominated for prizes at this year's awards ceremony.
The nominations for this year's MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) have been announced, with Rihanna and Drake leading this year's nominees with five each.
Katy Perry, one of the big winners at last year's ceremony, has four nominations, while Beyonce, Coldplay and Watch The Throne – aka Kanye West and Jay-Z – all have three nods.
This year's VMAs will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on 6th September.
Rihanna's nominations include Video of the Year for 'We Found Love' and 'Take Care', her collaboration with Drake.
The coveted category also sees nominations for 'Wide Awake' by Katy Perry, Gotye's 'Somebody That I Used To Know' and 'Bad Girls' by M.I.A.
Rihanna and Drake are both nominated for Video Of The Year for 'Take Care':
Bajan star Rihanna is also in the running for Best Female Video and Best Pop Video.
Justin Bieber is nomination for two awards – Best Pop Video and Best Male Video - while One Direction and The Wanted are both in contention for Best New Artist.
