The First Nominees For The MTV EMAs Have Been Announced – And You Can Vote For Another!

One Direction and Ed Sheeran are amongst the first released nominees for the MTV EMAs 2014 – but who will get the wildcard spot?!
The first nominations for the MTV EMAs have been announced – and One Direction are amongst the contenders for the coveted award.
The first nominees have been announced for the Best UK And Ireland Act, and it looks like 1D will be battling it out with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Calvin Harris and Sam Smith.
There is one nominee in the category which has yet to be chosen – and the public can vote for the final ‘wildcard’ nominee for the first time in EMA history!
The final nominee in this category will be chosen via the power of social media, as fans can tweet to choose their favourite out of the Arctic Monkeys, The Vamps, Coldplay, Rita Ora, Clean Bandit and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.
To vote, you need to add one of the following hashtags to the end of your tweets and the artist with the most votes wins:

The voting closes on 14th September at 10.59 BST – so you’d better get your tweets in quick for them to count – and the winner will be announced on 16th September.
The MTV EMAs will be shown on Sunday 9th November from 9pm on MTV.
