Kylie and Kendall Jenner are being called out for taking a private jet to 'meet for dinner'

People are accusing Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner of damaging the environment for flying from LA to Palm Springs.

Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner just took a private jet from LA to Palm Springs and now the internet is dragging them for it.

Anyone who's ever watched an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians will know that the Kardashian/Jenner family are no strangers to controversy. Just this week (Dec 2), Kim Kardashian was criticised for asking her followers to donate money to a paralysed fan, in August Kendall Jenner was accused of cultural appropriation for wearing cornrows and in June Kylie Jenner was labeled "tone deaf" for hosting a The Handmaid's Tale themed party with costumes and cocktails to match.

Now Kylie and Kendall are at the centre of a new scandal and it revolves around how their travel impacts the environment.

Taking to Instagram last week (Nov 28), Kendall Jenner posted a story with the caption: "kylie coming to pick me up lol" and a video of her in LA watching Kylie's private jet approach her. Kylie had flown from her home in Hidden Hills to fetch her big sister Kendall and take her to Palm Springs to spend Thanksgiving dinner with their momager Kris Jenner and the rest of their family. Two days later (Nov 30), Kylie posted a story in her jet writing: "had a beautiful thanksgiving with the fam".

Travelling via private jet is common practice for Kylie and Kendall but it didn't take long for people to call them out. It's a one hour drive between Hidden Hills and LA and a two hour drive between LA and Palm Springs. In other words, the sisters had no real need to travel via jet to get to their Thanksgiving meal.

Choosing to fly private would obviously have unavoidable consequences on the environment and now they are being held accountable for it. One person wrote: "Kylie Jenner flying in private jets to pick up Kendall Jenner but these environmentalists want me to eat insects and use paper straws to save the planet?????"

Another added: "Kylie Jenner used a private jet to pick up Kendall for dinner and I am just wondering if they know what climate change is" and someone chimed in: "kylie and kendall really took a jet to get from los angeles to palm springs.. disgusting".

Given Kylie and Kendall's fame, it's understandable that they might not be able to fly on commercial flights all the time. That being said for short distances, it seems unnecessary to even fly at all and it makes sense that fans would question why they don't seek out more environmentally friendly ways of travelling.

As it stands, Kylie and Kendall are yet to respond to the backlash. We shall update you if they do.
