Kim Kardashian is receiving backlash on social media for asking her Twitter followers to donate money to a man that suffered a spinal cord injury, despite the fact she's ridiculously rich.
Jacques Matellus suffered a C1 spinal cord injury whilst rehearsing for a musical. The impact left him paralysed from the neck down and meant he has required surgery and rehabilitation. Sadly, Jacques' insurance will not cover the cost of the therapy he needs to continue making progress. Jacques now needs to raise $80,000 to cover the cost of his treatment for the next year, which includes intense therapy sessions for three hours a day, five days a week, at a cost of $100 per hour.

The post was shared on Twitter, with the user tagging Kim in it knowing that she "love helping people out". Later, the SKIMS founder retweeted the post with the message: "Everyone please read his story below and if you can donate I’m sure he would be so grateful."
Kim was immediately criticised for even asking her followers for the cash considering she's a multimillionaire. Forbes estimates Kim is worth $370 million and she came in at 26 on its list of America's Highest-Paid Celebrities in 2019. Now that is not even considering her husband Kanye West is pretty rich too and her sister Kylie Jenner is literally a billionaire, so she's hardly struggling.
Considering $80,000 is literally 0.02% of Kim Kardashian's net worth her fans thought her even daring to ask was an absolute "joke".

Of course, celebs aren't obligated to donate to every cause they come across but you know, it is a bit cheeky. Kim hasn't responded to the backlash and it's not known how much she donated, or if she even did. But according to the GoFundMe page, Kylie Jenner actually donated $10,000 to Jacques.
