Fans are convinced that Shay Mitchell has just confirmed that she is bisexual in a new TikTok video.

Shay has famously played two LGBTQ+ characters on screen before; Emily Fields in Pretty Little Liars and Peach Salinger in You. She's briefly discussed her sexuality in the past, but she's never clarified or labelled herself publicly.

Now, fans are losing it over the fact that she appears to have come out as bi through a bisexual TikTok trend involving a velvet green sofa.

In the video, the original poster @nourishedwithtish asks: "If you identify as bisexual, do you own a green couch?" In a stitch, user @keepitspooky then adds: "I love knowing nothing about my life is original."

Then, in Shay's stitch, the actress can be seen dropping down onto a green velvet couch, seemingly hinting that she is bi.

To hundreds of fans on social media who didn't know that Shay had spoken about her sexuality in the past, this is brand new information – and now everyone is living for the TikTok.

"Are you saying what I think you're saying!?!?!," one TikTok user wrote, while another simply wrote: "WE WON"

Others have also shared that the characters Shay has played in the past have been their sexual awakenings, with one person adding: "Emily Field caused my bisexual awakening."

Back in 2017, Shay briefly touched on her sexuality when asked about it in regards to her role as Emily in PLL. Speaking to Maxim, Shay said: "People always ask me, ‘You play a gay character? Are you gay? Are you straight? Are you this? Are you that?' Look, Emily doesn’t label herself, and I don’t label myself either.

"I fall in love with the spirit of somebody. Love is love, and that’s something that I’ll keep saying.”

In a 2020 video with former PLL co-star Ian Harding, Shay also spoke about being attracted to women: "For me, it’s never been ‘I need to find a boyfriend, I need to find this’.

"I truly feel like I do fall in love with a person. I liked the fact that I played Emily and I liked the fact that I played Peach. I’m honestly more intrigued by women than I am by men."

Shay has been in a relationship with Matte Babel since 2017, and they have two daughters named Atlas and Rome.
