What music has JoJo Siwa released?
JoJo began releasing music when she was 13 years old with 'Boomerang' which was a huge hit. She then signed with Nickelodeon and released songs like 'Kid in a Candy Store', 'Bop!' and 'High Top Shoes'.
After leaving Nickelodeon, JoJo took somewhat of a hiatus from music before returning to the fold in 2024 with a mega rebrand. Under Columbia records, JoJo released her EP 'Guilty Pleasure' which includes songs like 'Karma' and 'Choose UR Fighter'.
'Guilty Pleasure' received a lot of chatter online, for many reasons including how she heavily leaned into a rock/punk aesthetic after being pink, bows and rainbows for so long. She also created a viral TikTok dance for 'Karma', which fans didn't know whether they loved or hated, and the Dance Moms alum was also called out for claiming she invented 'gay pop'.
But the biggest conversation around her new music was that she was accused of stealing the songs from other writers. JoJo has explained that she brought the songs off of smaller artists and therefore had the rights to music which she re-recorded herself. Brit Smith, who wrote 'Karma', has clarified JoJo was "totally in the right to record her version".
