Bhad Bhabie faces backlash over “who wants to be black” comments
Bhad Bhabie also compared herself to Tarzan and criticised rapper Lil' Kim's appearance.
Bhad Bhabie is being dragged for comparing herself to Tarzan and saying "who wants to be black" while trying to defend claims that she is blackfishing and appropriating black culture.
As you know, Bhad Bhabie (real name Danielle Bregoli) recently received backlash for blackfishing in an Instagram video. She denied the allegations at the time, but over the weekend she caused further anger after hopping on Instagram Live. On Live, she showed her makeup artist applying her foundation, which was significantly darker than her skin tone.

Well, Bhad Bhabie decided to address the backlash once more and she made things so much worse. The teenage rapper tried to defend herself by comparing her upbringing to that of Tarzan's (yikes) and calling out legendary rapper Lil' Kim, who is rumoured to have lightened her skin.
In an Instagram Live, she said: "Y'all say that I 'try to be black' because I...maybe [the] reason is because I grew up in the hood. Tarzan, right? The story of Tarzan…"
Now, in case you didn't know, Tarzan is the fictional story of a young man who is raised in the African jungle by gorillas. So, Bhad Bhabie basically compared herself "acting black" because she grew up in the hood to Tarzan acting like a gorilla because he was raised by gorillas... (Note: Bhad Bhabie grew up in Boynton Beach, a city in Palm Beach County, Florida).
But, it gets worse. She went on to criticise Lil' Kim's image and black people in general. She added: "I used darker foundation. Lil' Kim uses foundation that – no disrespect toward Lil' Kim, I’m actually a fan of hers. No disrespect to her – but the girl wears foundation that’s too light for her face. The girl went and got a nose job to have a smaller nose like white people. Like y'all don’t see that? She turned herself into… like I said, no disrespect toward her. I don’t have no problem with it. She can do what she do and make her happy. That’s all her.

"But I’m saying she literally got surgery to make herself look like a white person. She’s wearing makeup that’s light and y’all don’t say a god damn word about her. Y’all don’t say a god damn fucking word about her, but I put on a foundation that makes me look tan…" Lil' Kim has previously said that her surgeries are the result of past abusive relationships.

She continued: "Who wants to be black? I don't understand that! I just can't comprehend it."

Bhad Bhabie made a valid point and I don’t know what isn’t clicking: None of them want to be Black. She wouldn’t choose to be Black, she wants the look and the culture along with the privilege her whiteness affords her at the same time. https://t.co/vn3DImbiLO
