Brooklyn Beckham Faces Backlash For ‘Racist’ Post And Goes Private On Instagram

This is not okay...
Brooklyn Beckham may be best known for being the eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham but he has already amassed a huge fanbase of his own. The 19-year-old has spent the past few years establishing a career for himself as a major model and fashion photographer (he has starred on and shot covers for magazines including Wonderland and 1883). He now has over 11.5 million followers on Instagram.
However, the young celebrity isn't immune to controversy. During his time in the limelight, he has been called out for various things such as culturally insensitive tattoos and problematic photo shoots. And now people are criticising him for one of his latest Instagram posts. In fact, the backlash has been so huge that Brookyn has just made his Instagram account private.
Over the weekend, Brooklyn shared some snaps on social media of a recent holiday in Venice, Italy. So far so normal but one post in particular was immediately slammed for its 'racist' undertones. The star shared two photos of Asian tourists with the caption: "No place like Italy innit". While we're sure that Brooklyn has no ill intentions, it goes without saying that this is not on.
Fans immediately pointed out that Venice is full of tourists of all ages and that Brooklyn himself was also a tourist there. Not to mention, Asian Italian people also exist so to write a 'joke' like that is incredibly ignorant. In response, Brooklyn has now deleted the post and made his Instagram account private but people are understandably still requesting an official apology.
Here is the original post and just a few of the reactions.

Brooklyn Beckham’s noble imagination of Western world was hurt by the appearance of Asians. LMAO. Don’t know he’s such an Italian culture expert, before this I would only thought he was uneducated, now it turned out he’s uncivilized. 😄 A racist&a dumbass comfirmed.

Apparently Brooklyn Beckham posted something racist and received backlash for it; instead of apologising, he just deleted the post and turned his account private. Y’know what that means 👋🏻💀 pic.twitter.com/hZvqHAu3GZ
