Five Arrested After Hyde Stabbing
Five people have been arrested after a man was stabbed in Hyde.
At about 7.30am on Sunday 14 August 2011, police were called to Talbot Road following reports a 20-year-old man had been stabbed in the neck.
Following the attack, the victim phoned an ambulance as he went out into the street, where he was found and helped
by a passer-by.
Police officers attended and gave the man first aid until paramedics arrived.
He was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Five men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remain in police custody for questioning.
Detective Inspector Richard Ennis from Tameside CID, said: "Members of the community are bound to be concerned by
news of this crime, but I would like to reassure them that this appears to have been an isolated incident and five people have been arrested.
“The victim lost a significant amount of blood in the attack and paramedics have said that the initial first aid
provided by officers at the scene saved the victim’s life.
"We are keen to hear from anyone who has any information that may assist with our investigation.
