Police are appealing for witnesses following the attempt robbery of a cash delivery driver in Bolton.
Shortly before 11am on Tuesday 29 November 2011 police were called to a bank on Market Street, West Houghton.
Two masked men followed a cash delivery driver into the bank and waited for him to get out of the van. They approached him from behind, armed with a scaffolding tube and followed him into the bank.
Bank staff were alerted however and the two men did not get access to the banking hall. They left in a black Audi, with number plates MA07 URM driven by a third man.
The car was driven to Lower Southfield and set on fire.
The two men are described as white, of average build, between 5ft 10in and 6ft tall wearing dark clothing with black balaclavas and gloves.
The driver is described as white man wearing dark clothing.
Detective Sergeant Darren Wiggins from, Bolton CID, said "Understandably the driver and bank staff are very shaken up after they were faced with two masked men.
"If anyone was in the West Houghton area around this time and saw anyone acting suspiciously or matching the description of the three men can they please contact me with any information?
"I would also urge the public, if you saw a black Audi in the Lower Southfield area and have information of the driver and passengers to please contact us."
