Pandora and Will Ambitious about Autism

Capital FM presenters Pandora and Will Cozens visited TreeHouse School to look at the ‘Capital Sixth Form Learning Stations’ a year after they were launched.

The learning stations were funded through a £98,000 grant from Help a Capital Child and include a radio station (Ambition Radio), digital arts suite, retail outlet (Our Capital Shop) and art studio.

TreeHouse School is the flagship education service of Ambitious about Autism, the national charity for children and young people with autism. Last October Ofsted awarded TreeHouse School an outstanding rating and praised the school’s sixth form and commitment to providing vocational skills.

Anne Shinkwin, Director of Fundraising at Ambitious about Autism, said:

“We are delighted to welcome back Capital FM a year after its very generous donation to see the impact of the Capital Sixth Form Learning Stations. Our students have enjoyed using the learning stations to develop their vocational skills and creative interests and we are very grateful to Help a Capital Child for all its support.

We know the importance of enabling our students to develop their vocational skills as this will help them live and be involved in their local communities in the future. Our Capital Sixth Form Learning Stations give them practical experiences that can be used in the workplace.”

"It was great meeting the students and seeing them getting so much practical experience at each of the Capital Sixth Form Learning Stations. We also had a chance to see some of the young people's amazing talents, from breathtaking art to stunning animation being created while we watched!" Pandora Capital FM Presenter

"We loved the Capital Shop and seeing how the students have taken charge of running it, as well as gaining work experience because of the skills they've learnt. Pandora and I also really enjoyed co-presenting as Ambition Radio went on-air…we can't wait to come back and help the young people produce some new shows." Will Cozens Capital FM Presenter

Thank you to everyone who has helped raise money and supported this incredible project.
