Celebrities just can't seem to resist the pull of the tattoo chair these days.

Everyone from Ariana Grande to Miley Cyrus have had tiny tattoos inked in recent months, and now it's Maisie Williams' turn. The Game of Thrones actress revealed a new tattoo on her ribcage and we can't even deal.

Maisie shared a photo of her latest inking on her Instagram Story, lifting up her top and revealing four Japanese characters just below her bra strap. Thankfully, we didn't have to do too much digging to find out what the meaning was because Maisie wrote "ikigai" on the image, before tagging celebrity tattooist Dr Woo.

The word "ikigai" originates from the Japanese island of Okinawa. Roughly translated to English, it means "thing that you live for". It's that one thing that gets you out of bed every morning and the harmonious blend of passion profession, mission and vocation – so wholesome.

It's considered to be why Japanese people, especially in Okinawa, are living longer, happier lives. Now it's become a buzzword for people all over the world, who have been practicing ikigai.

Now, Maisie is probably not one of the celebs whose tattoos you instantly think of, but she actually has around six. Maisie and her Game of Thrones co-star Sophie Turner have matching tattoos of the date they started filming the series. She also has another tattoo written in Japanese on her ankle.
