Lil Nas X's Wrangler Jeans collaboration is being called a "disgrace" by country music fans

Finally! Something to go with our cowboy hat.
When Lil Nas X's debut country-rap record 'Old Town Road' began climbing the charts in March, no-one thought it would lead to all of this. Not only has the remix featuring singer Billy Ray Cyrus been comfortably sitting on the number one spot of the Billboard charts for seven weeks, Lil Nas X now has a collaboration with cult denim brand Wrangler coming.
Now you might remember the iconic 'Old Town Road' lyric that directly references Wrangler. In the track, Lil Nas X raps: "Cowboy hat from Gucci, Wrangler on my booty." Well, just like that you can now actually get Wrangler on your booty.
North West just directed a music video for Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" and it's iconic
The collection β which has pieces priced from $39-$149 β features jeans, denim shorts and t-shirts with "OTR" plastered on them. Sadly, there's not a pair of cowboy hats, boots or chaps in sight.
And once you purchase your pair there's a chance to unlock some exclusive content. All you have to do is head to wrangleronmybooty.com and "scan" your booty using your camera. Once you've taken a booty pic that would make even Nicki Minaj jealous, the site will say "booty found" and reveal access to the behind-the-scenes footage of the 'Old Town Road' music video. Pretty high-tech, right?
However, not everyone is so excited about the collaboration. Lil Nas X's success was dragged on Wrangler's Instagram post announcing the new partnership by country music fans. Wrangler is synonymous with cowboys and country music, and regular Wrangler wearers believed he simply did not fit the aesthetic of the brand.

Some salty commenters even declared they would never buy from Wrangler again on Instagram.
"Can't believe Wranger stooped to that level, stop trying to conform and stay loyal to your roots," one angry Instagram user wrote. "I wear nothing but Wranglers and this is a disgrace," another added. And a third argued: "I wear Wranglers every day. The only jeans I own, but this right here is a disgrace to Wrangler and the cowboy/country heritage. Not impressed Wrangler. Please don't sell these to tractor supply and stockdales in TN cuz I don't wanna see these!"
Luckily, the good people of Twitter were quick to defend the collaboration.
Lil Nas X got a collab with wrangler and the racist are losing it in the comments. π
