"Why is no one talking about the Kat Von D tattoo liner full size being the same amount as a sample in a longer tube and still being full price? There is literally proof it’s true. Hello.... makeup community????"

Kat Von D's cult product, the Trooper Tattoo Liner, is being dragged – and no, it's not by Jeffree Star. Someone discovered that the ink cartridges in both the full size and sample size are exactly the same and people are pissed.

It was first spotted by Cheyenne Vaughan, who removed the ink cartridge from her tube of eyeliner and realised it was about the same size as the sample version… which is $10 cheaper. "Y'all I'm about to lose my mind right now," she wrote on Facebook.

Yall I'm about to lose my mind right now Kat von D really been putting a sample size eyeliner into a longer shell tube and selling to my dumb ass for triple the price. I'M ABOUT TO LOSE MY MIND RIGHT NOW

"Kat Von D really been putting a sample size eyeliner into a longer shell tube and selling to my dumb ass for triple the price. I'M ABOUT TO LOSE MY MIND RIGHT NOW."

Soon people were trying to see if it was just a bad batch, but no, it was the same with their eyeliners too. Unsurprisingly, a lot of people felt like they'd been scammed.

Well, Kat Von D herself has now spoken out about the liner drama on Instagram. "Before people start losing their minds over a recent post attacking our beloved @katvondbeauty Tattoo Liner, please read," she began.

"The cartridges in both full size liners and mini liners are the same – it's the amount of product inside each cartridge that is different.

Before people start losing their minds over a recent post attacking our beloved @katvondbeauty Tattoo Liner, please read: The cartridges in both full size liners and mini liners are the same — it’s the amount of product inside each cartridge that is different. So, for example, the product fill on our full size Tattoo Liner is 0.55 ml, while the product fill for the mini is 0.2 ml - thats over DOUBLE the amount of product! Any brand who has an eyeliner with similar component on the market will tell you the same thing. You need that much cartridge space for the pigment to flow out. Hope this helps explain any confusion out there! Lotsa Love, [especially to all my haters].😘❤️ #tattooliner #forever

Alongside the caption was a photo of Kat Von D Tattoo Liner next to Stila's to demonstrate they employed the same method too. She continued: "Any brand who has an eyeliner with similar component on the market will tell you the same thing. You need that much cartridge space for the pigment to flow out.
