Levi Strauss would never.
Okay, so you thought we left all the strange fashion trends in 2018, right? Wrong! It's getting weirder and weirder by the day. Cody Fern's "hoof boots" are already tipped to make waves in the fashion industry in 2019, while some VERY extra Louis Vuitton braids have been getting attention. So here we are, Day 14, about to introduce to you the asymmetric jeans. We're so sorry, as if the bootcut jeans meme was bad enough…
This insane new denim trend is the brainchild of Russian designer Ksenia Schnaider and her husband Anton Schnaider. They're known for their, erm, different denim pieces, so we're hardly surprised this half-wide/half-skinny hybrid is what they came up with next.
"My partner, Anton Schnaider, said that it was too crazy and no one needs jeans like this, so I abandoned this idea for a couple of seasons," Ksenia told Vogue. "But a few months ago, I realised that at least one person needs such jeans – me!"
My ancestors fled France due to religious persecution but at least they didn’t have to see asymmetric jeans

There it is. The end of civilization as we know it.

Trying to resist the urge to purchase these babies? No, we didn't think so either. But if you actually are, you can pre-order online for £290.
And if you don't have the cash to fork out on some designer denim, it's alright. Just buy a standard pair of wide leg jeans, another pair of skinny jeans, chop them in half and stitch one leg to the other. Voilà, you've just created a designer look for a fraction of the price.
