ASOS are selling these "harness cycle shorts" and people are seriously confused

This can't be comfortable, surely?
Every week a fashion brand will go on a mission to outdo the other by releasing a bizarre item of clothing – we're looking at you Boohoo and Fashion Nova… But today, ASOS is the culprit.
So in the spirit of creating something as unusual as possible, the British fashion brand released a truly wild pair of cycling shorts, which were kind of half sportswear and half underwear. We're pretty sure clambering on a bike was the last thing the designers had on their minds when they created these.
The ASOS DESIGN Truly High Waist Leg Cut Out Harness features a high-waist that, in theory, could be quite flattering. But, wait, no they had to include some really weird cut outs over the butt, crotch and thighs.
"Giving you the confidence to express your individuality, ASOS DESIGN interprets major trends, adding a unique ASOS spin from our London design team," the description read. Right…
Of course, soon people picked up on the wacky garment and it was posted on ASBOS_SOS, an Instagram page dedicated to the strangest ASOS apparel.
"Can you imagine wearing this for a family lunch with your grandparents? Or in a theatre?" one user asked. "I don't see a circumstance that would require wearing those. But I bet they’ll be all over at the festivals," another predicted, while a third wrote: "What in God's name? What purpose do they serve ffs?"
If you're brave enough, these are still in stock (we wonder why…) on the ASOS website right now in sizes XS - L for £14.00.
