----- Original post: The 2020 US election is now officially the biggest election the country has ever seen. Over 143 million votes have been cast, and Democratic nominee Joe Biden has received the most presidential candidate votes in US election history. (Donald Trump also managed to surpass the record set by Barack Obama in 2008.)
However, at time of original publication, the winner has yet to be called. Neither Biden nor Trump have managed to reach the required 270 electoral college points just yet, due to several swing states that are still counting mail-in ballots.
People have been reacting to the stressful election on social media since election day (Nov 3) in the best way they know how: Memes.
If you're looking for a moment of levity while you wait for the final results to come in, or simply need a distraction to stop you from doom-scrolling, here are some of the funniest reactions to the 2020 US election.

Nevada and its 6 electoral college votes could be crucial to both candidate's victory. Nevada, however, is taking its sweet time counting all the mail-in ballots and the entire country – nay! the world! – has its eyes on the state. And everyone is VERY stressed about it.

Due to the pandemic, US voters utilised their right to vote via mail-in ballot in order to avoid queuing at the polls on election day. The majority of people who did this were Democratic voters, while Republican voters decided to vote mostly in person. As a result, some swing states are seeing a surge in blue votes, which are having a huge effect on the final vote totals.
People are comparing the mail-in ballots to that scene in Avengers: Endgame and the 2017 Best Picture Oscar plot twist.
