The internet has reacted to Theresa May's resignation speech with memes and tweets.
After failing several times to secure a Brexit deal for the UK, Prime Minister Theresa May has announced today (May 24) that she will be resigning on June 7.
In a press conference speech given outside 10 Downing Street on Friday afternoon, May listed everything she achieved in her time in office, and added that it was a matter of “deep regret” that she had failed to deliver a deal. At the end of the speech, she shed a few tears.
While May might have failed time and time again to secure a deal with the EU in the wake of the Brexit vote, the internet, however, did not fail to deliver on the meme front.
From the 2017 election's strong and stable quote and the awkward dancing, to the awkward Brexit explanation video she posted on Twitter, the memes have been absolutely out of control from the day she stepped foot into No. 10. And her resignation speech was spared no mercy either.
