27 memes from the 2019 Oscars that honestly deserve their own award
25 February 2019, 15:19
From best dressed to worst dressed, from Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper to Billy Porter, from Spike Lee to Olivia Colman, these are the best memes from the 2019 Oscars.
It's done. Another awards season over in the blink of an eye. You can now take off your blindfolds and leave your houses in peace. Sunday night (Feb 24) saw the 91st annual Academy Awards take place in Los Angeles and you guessed it, lots of famous people won lots of awards and lots of people were angry about it.
But despite the intense backlash that seemed to follow almost every decision that The Academy tried to make in the build up to the show, everyone seemed to have a lovely time. Academy Award-winner Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's VERY INTIMATE performance of 'Shallow' was one of the highlights of the night, along with Olivia Colman leaving Glenn Close in the dust after winning Best Actress for her role in The Favourite and Spike Lee's incredible reaction to winning his first Oscar(!!!!!)

But as always, we must discuss the memes. For what are the Oscars without the memes? Another plentiful harvest was had (although, nothing quite as iconic as The Sudden Realisation of Jennifer Garner™, 2018. Oil on canvas.) and the fruits were glorious.
Best dressed, worst dressed - who cares?! Here are the best and funniest memes from the Oscars 2019:
Is a honeycomb? Is it a pizza? Is it a glazed ham? No, it's Emma Stone in her next role as Stroopwafel Brockovich.

You thought Billy Porter's Golden Globes outfit was it? WELL GET A LOAD OF THIS, HENNY.
(FYI: Billy paid homage to ballroom icon, the Legendary Grandfather Hector Xtravaganza of the House of Xtravaganza)

Glenn Close is looking at Billy Porter's gown in the same way she looks at a litter of newborn Dalmatian puppies.
My favorite Oscars moment is and always will be Glenn Close studying Billy Porter and coming to a clear conclusion. #Oscars pic.twitter.com/tWW529seT2

I honestly don't even know how to explain this year's ceremony to someone who just woke up from a coma.
Even TWO years ago, if I had told you an Oscars broadcast would begin with a live performance by Queen with a shot of A-Rod dancing in the second row, you’d have wondered on what planet this occurred.
