Kim Kardashian West celebrates her 40th birthday on a family vacation
Greetings, poor people: Kim Kardashian actually had her 40th birthday party on a private island.
You probably already know that Kim Kardashian hit the big 4-0 on October 21 and she celebrated by having the most extravagant birthday bash in history. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star flew her closest friends and family to a private island. No biggie.
Feeling "humbled and blessed" by the whole shindig, Kim shared some images from her birthday celebrations with the poor and needy. She tweeted: "40 and feeling so humbled and blessed. There is not a single day that I take for granted, especially during these times when we are all reminded of the things that truly matter."
"For my birthday this year, I couldn’t think of a better way to spend it than with some of the people who have helped shaped me into the woman I am today."

Of course, the pandemic is still going on right now, which means extra precautions had to be taken in order to ship her buddies to the island for a few nights of fun.
She added: "Before COVID, I don’t think any of us truly appreciated what a simple luxury it was to be able to travel and be together with family and friends in a safe environment. After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time."
"We danced, rode bikes, swam near whales, kayaked, watched a movie on the beach and so much more. I realize that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now, so in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is." Wow, what a relatable queen.

Kim was criticised for her lack of self-awareness and for basically bragging about the fact that's she's super-rich, especially during this time. Like, we know. However, thanks to Kim's tone-deaf Twitter post a new viral meme was born.
People started mocking Kim's private island snaps with photos of where they would like to be.
Mentally, I'm here.

How exactly do you "surprise" your friends with a private island trip but ask them to quarantine?
