"I am cancelling the Sisters Tour". James Charles announces he is pulling his tour after weeks of drama between himself and former mentor Tati Westbrook.
After days of speculation from fans and a drama-filled couple of weeks, James Charles has cancelled his Sisters Tour. James made the announcement on Instagram Stories, letting fans know that he'd reached the decision to cancel the 24 city US tour after days of meeting and phone calls. This comes after weeks of controversy stemming from a now-deleted call out video posted by his former mentor, Tati Westbrook.
James started out his announcement by thanking fans for the "positivity and birthday wishes". The influencer turned 20 years old this week. He then launched into a detailed explanation of why and how he'd arrived at the decision to discontinue the Sisters Tour.
"I know this sucks and people are gonna be upset and about it and, trust me, I am really not happy about this either," James said. He also clarified that it was his decision to end The Sisters tour, which faced some backlash in April over 'expensive' ticket prices.
"This is 100% my decision. None of the venues pulled out, none of the brands that were gonna be sponsoring it pulled out," he said, adding that, "the Sisters Tour is not being cancelled because I was cancelled."
In the nearly 10 minute long sequence of Instagram Stories videos, James explained that he's still not "doing well" following the backlash from the Tati Westbrook "bye sisters" video.
"I am still not doing well. The main reason why I am deciding to pull the plug on tour is because the next few weeks and the next few months, honestly, I said that I wanted to take time for myself and to be with the people that love me."
"Because of all this stuff I feel that I can't deliver that best version of James right now. But I'm working on that, I promise."
James Charles has promised ticket holders to the sisters tour will receive full refunds.
"I know a few of the venues have already started to call and email people who have bought tickets letting them know. You don't have to call or email to get a refund. All the refunds will be fully automatic and you will get them within the next business week."
The beauty influencer still has plans to go to tour and further explained that falling behind on production and merch is another reason he chose not to continue on with the tour this time around.
James also hinted at taking things international for his next planned tour outing.
