People Are SCREAMING Over This Traumatising “Invisible Kid Prank”
12 September 2018, 12:44
The #InvisibleChallenge or the #MagicForHumans challenge is taking over Twitter and terrorising children.
Internet pranks can be hit and miss; some of them are just straight up stupid, some of them are far too dangerous but every now and then, a GREAT one comes along that will stand the test of time. If you've been on the internet recently, you'll probably have stumbled across a prank that involves making people "invisible", or more specifically, the one that traumatises children into thinking that they've disappeared.
The trick in question originated on Justin Willman's Netflix series Magic For Humans. In the segment, he makes grown men believe that they are invisible. First, he actually makes a man disappear (?!?) and then carries out the trick on a few more people in the audience.

While some have their suspicious about the authenticity of Justin's original prank (he says it's all real), it turns out that it works PERFECTLY on unsuspecting children. Yes, the challenge has now escalated to the point where people are tricking their younger siblings or cousins into believing that they are invisible.
The set up is the same in every video, just like on the show. You put a blanket over the top of whatever child you're hoping to traumatise, make up a spell, whip the blanket off and then put in a performance Meryl Streep would be proud of.
The tipping point is when you take a picture with the "invisible" kid and convince them that they're really not there. The trick here is to take a picture beforehand, without the kid in the shot, and make sure you don't forget your pose! And then... watch the meltdown that ensues.
Here are some of the funniest (and most traumatising) examples that people have shared on social media. YouTuber David Dobrik managed to pull it off perfectly:
