A new site reveals how many fake followers you have on Instagram

You can now find out exactly how many fake followers you, your friends and your favourite celebrities have on Instagram.

It's no secret that Instagram is swarming with bots. With that in mind, every time a celebrity (or an egg!) breaks an Instagram record, it's hard to figure out if they're genuinely reaching a milestone or not. Is Cristiano Ronaldo the most followed person on Instagram or do Ariana Grande and Selena Gomez have more real followers than him? Did an egg actually beat Kylie Jenner's most-liked photo on Instagram or did bots help it? It's impossible to know for certain...until now.

A new website called IG Audit calculates exactly what percentage of your followers are fake.

How many fake followers do you have on Instagram?

The site is simple: all you have to do is enter your Instagram username or the username of a friend, or celebrity and it does all the work for you. It analyses your account thoroughly by taking into consideration how many followers you have, the amount of likes you get per post and how many comments your posts get. It then tells you you average likes per post, your average comments per post and your estimated amount of real followers.

Obviously, this isn't an exact science but it does give you a good idea of how many of your followers really engage with your content and how many simply scroll past it...or are bots. Cristiano Ronaldo may be the most followed person on Instagram with 179.7 million followers but IG Audit estimates that only 58% of his followers are real. Meanwhile, Billie Eilish has 34.7 million followers but 66% of them are estimated to be real.
