In and amongst all the Try Guys drama and the discourse about Netflix's Dahmer series over the past two weeks, another huge thing happened on the internet that you might have noticed on your timelines: Dream's face reveal.
Last week, popular YouTuber and streamer Dream (who has kept his identity a secret from his friends and fans for several years), unveiled his face for the very first time. His video has been watched by 40 million people so far, and when it first dropped, it quickly began to trend on social media.
But as usual, the internet was ruthless. Shortly after Dream revealed his face, the hashtag #HesUgly began trending on Twitter. Thousands of people shared their own thoughts about Dream's appearance, with memes and harsh comments flying all over the place.
Now, Dream has responded to those reactions and explained why he doesn't actually feel that bothered by it.

Speaking to Bloomberg, Dream revealed that several of his friends texted him after the face reveal video went viral to ask if he was alright following the negative comments.
“I got texted by so many friends of mine being like, ‘Are you OK?’” he told the publication. "I was like, well, yeah, when you have 30 million eyeballs on you, a million, two million people are going to be making jokes or mean or are not great people."
In another interview with BuzzFeed, Dream said that the harsh memes didn't really bother him too much, either.
"There’s gonna be bad people, people that are going to be mean, so I didn’t take it to heart," he said. "I expected stuff like that."
According to Dream, the reason why he decided to show his face now is because he wanted to meet up with his friends and fellow streamers – including GeorgeNotFound – and start going to events, like TwitchCon.
Back in 2021, he also told YouTuber Anthony Padilla that his long-awaited face reveal would also open him up to collaborating with other creators, share different types of content and start a TikTok channel.
