Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has launched a formal impeachment inquiry of Donald Trump and the memes are out of control.

Yesterday (Sep 24), Nancy Pelosi announced that the United States House of Representatives will conduct an impeachment inquiry of Trump after reports surfaced that the President has enlisted "a foreign power to tarnish a rival for his own political gain". Pelosi stated: "The President must be held accountable. No one is above the law." She also said: "Actions taken to date by the President have seriously violated the Constitution".

Pelosi then continued to explain: "This week, the President has admitted to asking the President of Ukraine to take actions which would benefit him politically. The actions of the Trump presidency revealed the dishonourable fact of the President's betrayal of his oath of office, betrayal of our national security and betrayal of the integrity of our elections".

Naturally, the possibility of Trump actually being impeached has been met with a hugely positive reaction online. From Trump tearing families apart with his racist immigration policies to his refusal to amend gun laws despite an unprecedented amount of public shootings during his time in office, his actions as President have been nothing short of horrifying.

With that in mind, it should come as no shock that millions of people around the world are relieved to hear that Trump could really be impeached and the internet has reacted in the only way it knows how: with memes.
