Chris Pratt's Mario voice has finally been unveiled in the brand new trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and it's already being roasted on Twitter.
Alongside Pratt, the upcoming animated movie also stars Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Jack Black as Bowser (whose voice everyone is obsessed with), Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike.
The general consensus? The trailer looks absolutely amazing, but Chris Pratt's Mario voice? It's-a no from the internet.

Back in June, Chris responded to the criticism of his casting in an interview with Variety, saying he was going to do Mario justice, and that he'll sound "unlike anything you’ve heard".
"I worked really closely with the directors and trying out a few things and landed on something that I’m really proud of and can’t wait for people to see and hear," Chris continued.
And well, the people have now heard it... and the people hate it. To be fair, the clip of Mario speaking is very short, but it's enough for people to start absolutely roasting it – because it just sounds like Chris Pratt.
One user wrote: "Chris Pratt as Mario is a prime example of why you should hire voice actors for voice acting roles because what the hell is this." Another added: "Chris Pratt saying he worked so hard on the Mario voice only for it to sound like Chris Pratt is the funniest thing."

To make matters even worse, the trailer for the French-dubbed version has also been released, and people are already wishing the actor who voices Mario had voiced the English-language version too.
"French dub got a killer Mario lmao damn," one viral tweet reads.
Referencing how the internet managed to put pressure on the Sonic The Hedgehog movie to completely change the design of the animation after the first look garnered massive backlash, others have suggested that they do the same to Mario's voice.
Anyway, only time will tell if Chris Pratt's Mario voice sounds better in the movie than it does in that trailer...
