Charli D'Amelio apologises to Chase Hudson and Nessa Barrett on Instagram Live
“I let my Twitter fingers get the best of me, which is something that I never wanted to do in the first place because that’s not who I am."
A few days ago, a war erupted on TikTok over Chase Hudson (a.k.a. Lil Huddy) and his involvement with Nessa Barrett.
The fallout, which has since been dubbed World War Tea and the TikTokalypse, involved a number of TikTokers from the Sway House and the Hype House, including ex-member Charli D'Amelio.
After being accused of cheating on Charli, Chase posted an exposé accusing multiple other TikTokers of cheating. Charli, who usually stays out of drama, then exposed Chase in a tweet, saying he showed up to her house after he had kissed Nessa.

It's a very long story, the situation is very hard to follow but here we are. The TikTok teens are fighting over standard teenage drama – except unlike the rest of us, their drama is now unfolding in front of their millions of followers.
Now, in an emotional Instagram live, Charli has opened up about how she regrets the way she reacted to Chase's Twitter exposé and tearfully apologised to Nessa and Chase.
Speaking to her 22.7 million followers on Instagram, 16-year-old Charli went live to discuss everything, and ask her fans to stop sending people hate. At one point, over 420k people were watching her speak on the live.
“The drama that has happened in the last few days, was handled completely immaturely, myself included," she said. "It should not have happened online and it breaks my heart to see the people that I love get hate. And it makes me feel so guilty that I had any part in that whatsoever."
She continued: “Chase and I had a very long talk yesterday and we both realised that we were just not right for each other and I think that everyone involved in this situation needs to take some time to reflect on themselves."
Charli then tearfully apologises for what she said in the moment: "I was extremely hurt and I felt betrayed, so I did what I had to do to make myself feel better. But I know that that was not the right thing to do, and I will make sure that that doesn’t happen again."

Charli also apologised to Nessa, who had received a lot of hate throughout the situation: “Nessa, I am sorry that you are getting hate. You seem like a very sweet girl, and I’m very, very sorry for that.”
She also apologised to Chase saying, "you do not deserve to be told the awful things that people are telling you."
“I let my Twitter fingers get the best of me, which is something that I never wanted to do in the first place because that’s not who I am," Charli continued. "I never come on here and show my true emotions, it’s just you guys need to know that it’s never okay to tell anyone to kill themselves. It’s never okay to just blatantly make fun of people for them making a mistake."
Toward the end of the live, Charli clarifies that she is on good terms with everyone, saying that has had mature conversations with everyone offline, "which is what should have happened in the first place".
In response to her live, Hype House co-founder Thomas Petrou wrote on Instagram stories: "Charli is one of the most mature people in social media and she's 16. Some people should take notes."
