The trend has emerged in the comments of viral videos and is now making its way around the various other social media platforms. But what exactly does it mean? What does it stand for? Here's what you need to know...
What does CEO on TikTok mean?
Well, first of all, CEO on TikTok stands for the same thing that it stands for in real life: 'Chief Executive Officer'. (Some have also described it as 'Certified Expert Of...' which also kind of works, but isn't quite as accurate.)
A CEO, by definition, is "the highest-ranking person in a company or other institution, ultimately responsible for taking managerial decisions." The term also has very much the same meaning on TikTok.

In the exact same way the internet comments on everything that Carly Rae Jepsen, for example, does by labelling her 'Queen of holding a microphone' or 'Queen of maybe getting called', TikTok's 'CEO of' comment trend bestows the high honour on to users who have nailed a random trait shown in a viral video.
Basically, it's calling them best at a certain thing, no matter how shady or trivial that thing may be.
For example, on highly and skilfully edited videos, you may see comments like 'CEO of edits'. Other examples are 'CEO of trick shots', 'CEO of being off beat', 'CEO of soup', 'CEO of...' blah, blah, blah, you get the idea.
The CEO comments are usually the most liked comments that sit right at the top of the comment section. There's also a #CEOof hashtag and people have also started including the CEO comments in their own video captions.
