Does the Broom Challenge on TikTok actually have anything to do with NASA and the Earth's gravitational pull?
The Broom Challenge is breaking the internet and people think that it's all thanks to NASA and gravity... but is it all a hoax?
The internet is no stranger to hilarious viral challenges. Over the course of the past few months alone, we've seen numerous challenges take over social media. In November, everyone was doing the Chair Challenge (picking up a chair has never been so hard) and in January, everyone was attempting the Flex Challenge (if you can't do the splits, this is probably not for you).

Now, the internet is back at it again and celebrities including Kehlani and Brother Nature are doing the Broom Challenge on TikTok and everywhere else.
The Broom Challenge is simple. All you have to do is get a broom to stand up on its own. Whether or not it actually works will depend on the broom you use and the angle you balance it. According to Meteorologist Ahmad Bajjey, you have a far better chance of completing it if you use a broom with "a flat bottom and a low centre of gravity." That's pretty much all there is to it.
Nevertheless, fake news spreads very quickly on the internet and people are convinced that NASA created it. There is also a rumour going around that the space organisation said that it was only possible to do the challenge yesterday (Feb 10th) due to forces of gravity. So, the challenge itself is not a hoax but the specific date thing is. Also, NASA has said nothing about it.

So my mom just texted my brother, sister and I that according to NASA today is the only day your broom can stand on its own because of the gravitational pull and I- pic.twitter.com/bx0tJr0fXf
