Are you in the right headspace to receive this meme?
If you've been on Twitter lately, you'll know that communication templates are all the rage right now. I mean, why think of a response that specifically addresses a friend's text or email when you could simply... copy and paste an impersonal script you found on the internet? Recently, a Twitter user inadvertently went viral when they suggested a script-like response to send a friend when you do not have the "emotional capacity" to handle a deep conversation.
Now, another Twitter user has suggested a template for what to send a friend when you have information that could potentially hurt them and, well, the internet is roasting that template too. The "are you in the right headspace" meme has people imagining all sorts of scenarios where someone might not be in the right frame of mind to receive a piece of information.

According to Know Your Meme, it was Twitter user @YanaBirt who first tweeted a screenshot of a text message asking for permission to share difficult news.
The screenshot read: "are you in the right headspace to receive information that could potentially hurt you?" @YanaBirt captioned the photo by noting that "a lot of ya'll dump information on your friends at the wrong time without their consent. If you know it's something that could hurt them, ask permission before you decide to be messy. Please."
There's actually a good point here about how to deliver sensitive information to your friends. But, of course, the internet skipped straight to the memes.
