Ant-Man going up Thanos' butt to defeat him in Avengers: Endgame is now a wild meme

A viral joke theory from Reddit about Ant-Man climbing up Thanos' butt to defeat him has captured the internet's imagination and inspired hilarious memes.

Marvel fans have had a whole year to ponder how exactly Thanos will be defeated in Avengers: Endgame. Infinity War saw Thanos deliver the snap heard round the world, taking out half of the universe–including half of The Avengers. Fans have come up with theories and guesses as to what will finally bring down Thanos, but a NSFW theory involving Ant-Man and Thanos' butt might just take the cake for most inventive.

The Ant-Man going up Thanos' butt theory is now a meme and, we hate to say it, but the whole thing kind of checks out.

As Vox points out, the Thanos butt truthers got their start on Reddit before the theory became more mainstream. Essentially, the idea is that, since Ant-Man can shrink himself and expand at will, he would in theory be able to get inside Thanos' butt and explode him from the inside once he grew to his full size.

Of course, this won't be how Thanos is defeated but conceptually...it works. If Thanos has a butt, what's stopping Ant-Man from doing what needs to be done for the fate of the Avengers and the universe?

The absurd theory has inspired glorious memes and reactions online.

While it is almost certain that Ant-Man wont be flying into any of Thanos' orifices, the butt theory proves that MCU fans have given a lot of thought (probably too much thought, if we're being honest) into what it's going to take to bring the villain down.

Avengers: Endgame hits theatres April 24.
