Panic! At The Disco win Best Rock category at the MTV VMAs for the first time

Panic! At The Disco won the award over Fall Out Boy, Twenty One Pilots, The 1975, Imagine Dragons and Lenny Kravitz.
It's official. Panic! At The Disco won Best Rock at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards.
Panic! At The Disco are no strangers to the VMAs. In 2006, they beat out Christina Aguilera, Shakira and Madonna to win the prestigious Video of the Year award for 'I Write Sins Not Tragedies', in 2018 they delivered a showstopping rendition of 'High Hopes' at the ceremony and this year they racked up and incredible four nominations for 'High Hopes' and Brendon Urie's recent Taylor Swift collaboration 'ME!'. The beloved band never ceases to amaze us.

Now Panic! have won Best Rock over the likes of Twenty One Pilots and The 1975.
This year Panic! At The Disco were nominated for Best Rock video for the 'High Hopes' visual against Twenty One Pilots' 'My Blood', The 1975's 'Love It If We Made It', Fall Out Boy's 'Bishops Knife Trick', Imagine Dragons' 'Natural' and, rock royalty, Lenny Kravitz' 'Low' video. And yet, in spite of the tough competition, Brendon and the rest of the group came out on top and took home the prize. 'High Hopes' has over 355 million views on YouTube.
Reacting to the news on Twitter, Brendon wrote: "Ayyyeeee got a shiny new moon person to add to the shelf". He also went on to add: "love y’all, thanks for voting!"

Alongside Best Rock, Brendon was nominated for Best Collaboration, Best Visual Effects and Best Cinematography for 'ME!'. The video lost Best Collaboration to Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello with 'Señorita' but won Best Visual Effects.
