The 'Scream' star has been receiving messages from stars around the world over the tragic incident.
A family friend of Usher is reportedly being investigated over an accident which left the R&B singer's stepson "brain dead".
Atlanta based Jeffrey S. Hubbard is apparently being held by officials over the incident which took place on Lake Lanier in Georgia.
11-year-old Kyle Glover sustained the serious head injuries when he was hit with a jet ski whilst riding on an inner tube this past Friday (6th July).
The child is the son of the 'Climax' singer's ex-wife Tameka Raymond - who he also has two sons of his own with.
"Basically, a pontoon was pulling two juveniles on an inner tube, and the watercraft ran over the top of them," Sgt. Mike Burgamy with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources told New York Daily News.
The publication reports that the unnamed girl who was also on board was rescued face down in the water at the time of the accident.
"One minute the jet ski was running around, the next he ran over the top of them," added the officer. "It happened that quickly. "

"It appears the watercraft did strike both juveniles, with the male taking the brunt of the force."
Justin Bieber took to his Twitter account today (10th July) to offer his prayers to his mentor and called on his fans to do the same in wishing the family well.
