Our thoughts are with the 'Sober' singer...
Demi Lovato has reportedly been taken to hospital after an alleged overdose.
According to TMZ, the overdose took place at Lovato's home in the Hollywood Hills in LA. The news outlet claims that Demi was found "unconscious" and paramedics treated her immediately before transporting her to a local hospital. PEOPLE has since reported that Demi is in a stable condition.
Demi's publicist has now made an official statement too: “Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support. Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”
In the wake of the news, fans and friends of the singer have reached out via social media to show their love and support for the 25 year old star. Celebrities including Ariana Grande, Lili Reinhart, Kehlani and more have all tweeted Demi kind words.

praying for @ddlovato and her health. When I was 14, she was an idol to me in how she spoke so openly about mental health. And now she continues to inspire thousands of young men and women with her body positivity messages. Addiction and mental illness doesn’t discriminate. 💔

sending huge recovery love to Demi. this is a very personal moment and respected delicately. all we can do is send our best wishes and love. addiction isn’t simple nor easy. you’re very loved, @ddlovato you’ll beat this as you did before. 🙏🏽
— Kehlani (@Kehlani) July 24, 2018
addiction isn’t one of those things you can put yourself in the shoes of. you had to have fought the fight yourself or had it rip your family apart your entire life... even then, the latter is still not the same thing. this isn’t the time for the picking apart or making light of.

Sending love + strength to @ddlovato Battling an addiction is already hard enough, we can't imagine waging a war against one in public. We implore people to be compassionate. To anyone else out there struggling today, we send you the full force of our support. ❤️

Hi so staying sober is really fucking hard and if you have anything other than supportive things to say about those struggling with addiction/alcoholism, you can go ahead and unfollow.

Demi has a well documented history with substance abuse and she has regularly been candid and open about her struggles with addiction in interviews, documentaries and music. In her most recent single, 'Sober' she opened up about relapsing for the first time in six years and apologised to those she let down in doing so.
In it she sings: “Mama, I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore // And daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor // To the ones who never left me, we’ve been down this road before // I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore.”
Like so many people have already said in response to the news, it is important to reiterate that addiction is not a choice.
Our thoughts are with Demi and her friends and family.
