The 'Warzone' singers are the first British boy band to achieve the feat since Take That in 1995.
The Wanted have been celebrating after their first American single 'Glad You Came' reached number one in Canada, as well as rising to number three on the US iTunes chart overnight.
The achievement makes the 'Lightning' singers the first UK boy band to do so since Take That made it to number seven in the US with 'Back For Good' back in 1995.
"AMERICA - you continue to amaze us! #3 on iTunes, this is unbelievable! #GLADYOUCAME," The Wanted tweeted last night after hearing about their new US chart position.
The Wanted launched 'Glad You Came' as their first US single earlier this month after spending several weeks on tour across America.
Last week the band admitted they were "overwhelmed" by the support they have received in the US so far, and band member Tom Parker said their success had been "quite emotional".
'Glad You Came' was also covered on an episode of the hit FOX TV show Glee last week and The Wanted are expected to perform the single live on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno next month (20th March).
The Wanted are due to continue their UK tour 'The Code' tonight (27rd February) with a performance in Glasgow.
