The American star looks set to shift up to 500,000 copies of her new album track in less than a week.
Taylor Swift's new single 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' could be set to make chart history in America.
The song, taken from her forthcoming album 'Red', was only released as a digital download earlier this week, but could be set to top the Billboard Hot 100.
It has been suggested 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' may sell between 450,000 to 500,000 downloads by the end of Sunday (19th August), which could make it the biggest sales debut for a digital released song by a woman.
Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' currently holds that record – the song sold 448,000 copies in its first week last year.
'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' is the first single to be taken from Taylor's new album 'Red'.
Released on 22nd October, the album – the singer's fourth studio release – also features a collaboration with Ed Sheeran, which Taylor has revealed was written on a trampoline.
