The US country star admits everything can "come crashing down" if she makes a "mess" of her upcoming appearance.
Taylor Swift has revealed that is feeling nervous ahead of the first live performance of her new song 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' at the MTV Video Music Awards 2012 this week.
The 'Love Story' singer has been busy in rehearsals for her appearance on Thursday night (6th September) and told MTV News that there is a "world of music fans" watching.
"You get really nervous," she admitted. "It's a mixture of all these emotions of excitement of nerves of planning, of making sure that you have enough rehearsal time.
"You have to make sure that you are ready to go onstage and face the entire world of music fans that are watching that show."
She was questioned as to what sort of emotions run through her head as she is preparing to go on stage.
She answered: "Do not mess this up everything will come crashing down if you mess it up. It's a little more intense and the voice is a little meaner, but that's basically what happens."
"I get nervous — really, really, really nervous," she added.
The country star recently unveiled the official music video to the track and will perform on a line-up that includes the likes of One Direction, Pink and Alicia Keys.
