Taylor Swift has opened up about the type of people she likes to have as friends, and says she wants mates who are "brutally honest and genuine".
The 'I Knew You Were Trouble' singer says she makes a conscious effort to avoid hanging out with people who don't tell her the truth.
"I don't want people around me telling me what they think I'd like to hear," Taylor revealed to LOOK magazine this week. "I love being surrounded by friends who are brutally honest and genuine.

"It's always about reconnecting with each other, talking about relationships, love and guys, all the basic things," she explained, when asked what she chats about with pals like Selena Gomez and Amazing Spider-Man 2 actress Emma Stone.
The '22' singer also gave fans their first hints at the direction and sound of her new album, the follow-up to 2012's 'Red'.
"My song-writing will always have a confessional aspect, because I naturally draw on my life and my stories," she added. "The would make me very happy if my songs can reach out to people and lead them to do something positive."
Taylor Swift recently wrapped the UK leg of her 'Red' tour in London, after being joined on stage by special guests like Ed Sheeran, Emeli Sande and Ellie Goulding over the course of the visit.
