"It just like broke my heart". Brendon Urie lends his support to friend Taylor Swift during a live Twitch stream amid controversy over Scooter Braun's $300 million purchase of Big Machine–and Taylor Swift's back catalogue.
Taylor Swift penned an emotional Tumblr blog post on Sunday (June 30), expressing her disappointment over the news that Scooter Braun's Ithica Holdings had completed a $300 million purchase of Big Machine that included rights to Taylor Swift's back catalogue. Since then, celebrities have weighed in on the situation, with some siding with Scooter and some expressing support for Taylor Swift.

Panic! at the Disco's Brendon Urie has made his feelings on the situation known and it seems he is team Taylor on this one.
"This Scooter Braun shit. Like, what a piece of shit, right? Do you guys know about this dude? It just like broke my heart," Brendon said during a live Twitch stream.
"I read Taylor's statement and I was like, 'that sounds about right, you know'. Toxic dudes doing toxic bullshit in this toxic industry. "
"I thought that was illegal," he continued. "To do a business turn behind the people who wrote the stuff. You can't do it without their knowledge. There's a certain amount of time, legally, that you have to let them know."
Brendon and Taylor collaborated earlier this summer on her comeback single "ME!" and the two have had nothing but glowing things to say about one another. Brendon told Billboard that he thinks Taylor is "a warm and welcoming person" with "a passion for the things she's doing".
Brendon Urie joins celebrities like Halsey, Iggy Azalea and Cara Delevingne, who have come out in support of Taylor in the situation.

Telling someone about a deal days before it’s public means the deal was already done & she never had the opportunity to even make a bid to own her own work. These deals take months to negotiate in long form. https://t.co/Ra7NdxzcOM
