"For you / I would get beat to smithereens"

Happy TRENCH Day! Twenty One Pilots have FINALLY released their much-anticipated fifth studio album today (Oct 5th) and fans are devouring the album like it's their first meal in years.

Previously in an interview with Zane Lowe, Tyler Joseph revealed how anxiety and depression played a role in the themes of the record. "My music is me talking about it and is the window into it but I don't think it is healthy for me to give you the keys to that house" he said.

In the same interview, Tyler also spoke about his wife Jenna, saying that "she the best thing that I've accomplished". Well, it looks like that Jenna has inspired the track 'Smithereens' from the new record.

Jenna Joseph Shared An Emotional Post About Twenty One Pilots' New Album

The lyrics talk about the lengths Tyler would go for her. "For you, I’d go / Step to a dude much bigger than me / For you, I know / I would get messed up, weigh 153 / For you / I would get beat to smithereens", while the refrain in the bridge repeats: "You know I had to do one on the record for her like this / You know I had to do one on the record for her".
