Shawn Mendes - 'Mercy'

And to think, we've only just got over his video for 'Stitches'!

Throw your mind back to when you saw Shawn getting beaten and pushed to the ground by an invisible force in 'Stitches'. You can only hope that his latest video will feature him skipping through a field and eating delicious cakes, after that. Well, that is literally all you can do - hope.

After all, in the video for 'Mercy', Mr Mendes tries his hardest not to drown in a sinking car. Skipping between this and scenes of him playing various instruments, increasingly in anger (leading to him smashing a guitar) many of his fans have labelled this as a "masterpiece".

While we're still struggling with the fact that Shawn is always getting hurt in his music videos, the video does end on a happy note - SPOILER ALERT - when he escapes the submerged motor. Could the 18-year old Canadian be any more deep or metaphorical?!
