Shakira is officially the most popular person on Facebook ever – beating Rihanna to the top spot by over 10mill!

Imagine being the most popular person on Facebook ever?! Well, you’ve got a LOT to beat to get ahead of Shakira!

The booty shaking lovely has become the most popular person on Facebook EVER with a humungous 100 million likes!

Back in March, Shakira was only just beating Rihanna to the top spot with 86 million, but she has well and truly overtaken the competition.

At the present moment, Shakira has over 100,710,000 likes as Rihanna trails with 89,135,000. Soz, RiRi!

Shakira posted a video thanking all her fans for her amazing achievement, saying, “That is incredible. Thank you so much for your support, for your loyalty, for your love. It’s really unbelievable. Thank you so much.”  

She also posted a look-back video showing her time on the site, with a hand-written note at the end stating, "100 million friends on Facebook! Thank you so much for joining me and propelling me on this incredible journey. I couldn't do it without you all!"

People also reported Shakira as saying, “I am honored and humbled about reaching this milestone. Social media and specifically Facebook has helped myself and other artists bridge the gap between the stage and the audience." 

Even Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, got in touch to congratulate Shakira, posting, “Congrats! What an amazing milestone for an amazing person." Go Shakira!
