The US superstar says she is more proud of her new album than anything else she's done.
Selena Gomez credits artists like Britney Spears and close friend Taylor Swift has helping inspire the more grown-up direction of her new album 'Stars Dance'.
The 'Come & Get It' singer says she feels happy to have had "creative control" over the record, her first as a solo recording artist, and says the record represents her finding herself as an adult.
"The past year and a half has been really transitional for me, just personally, as well as transitioning into becoming a women," Selena revealed to CNN this week. "I still feel like I'm 15 sometimes and then other times, I'm wanting to feel comfortable in my body and my skin."

Selena, who turned 21 this week, goes on to reveal that close friend Taylor Swift was a big inspiration for the record, saying she is more proud of the album than any of her other music so far.
"I was able to have full creative control over it," she explained. "Before, I would have maybe a month or two to record an album, and I'd have to do my series at the same time and tour on the weekends.
"I wasn't in the right mindset to fully give my all."
