Demi Lovato calls Scooter Braun "a good man" in an Instagram Stories post defending her manager. This comes after Taylor Swift wrote an emotional Tumblr post where she responded to the $300 million sale of her back catalogue and called Scooter a 'bully'.
Demi Lovato has defended her manager Scooter Braun, after Taylor Swift penned a call out Tumblr post over the weekend accusing the 38-year-old music manager of "manipulative bullying". Taylor's original post came hours after it had been revealed that Scooter had purchased the singer's catalogue for $300 million, according to Billboard.
Demi appeared to side with Scooter in the matter, writing that he is "a good man" and explaining that she is "grateful" he came into her life. Scooter and Demi have only just started to work together in a professional capacity. The singer announced back in May that Scooter was her new manager. Scooter also manages Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Kanye West, and more.
"All I could think about was the incessant, manipulative bullying I’ve received at his hands for years," she wrote.
Taylor also recounted "when [Scooter's] client, Kanye West, organized a revenge porn music video which strips my body naked."
She added: "Now Scooter has stripped me of my life’s work, that I wasn’t given an opportunity to buy. Essentially, my musical legacy is about to lie in the hands of someone who tried to dismantle it."
"I have dealt with bad people in this industry and Scooter is not one of them. He's a good man. Personally, I'm grateful he came into my life when he did. Please stop "dragging" people or bullying them. There's enough hate in this world as it is," Demi wrote on Instagram.
In a follow up story, Demi also wrote: "Ya'll can come after me all you want but I'm always gonna stay loyal to my team. I value loyalty more than most people in this world and if my name is gonna be brought into conversations I'm gonna stand up for myself and the ones on my team."
Justin Bieber also aired his thoughts on the matter, first apologising for his photo and caption with Kanye West before defending Scooter as well.
Taylor has yet to publicly comment on either Demi or Justin's posts about Scooter Braun.
