The 'We Found Love' star says she would give up her whole life if she was picked to play the 'I Wanna Dance with Somebody' singer.
Rihanna has shown interested in portraying the late Whitney Houston in a biopic about the 'I'm Every Woman' singer's life, but admits she has yet to be contacted about the role.
The 'You Da One' singer is currently in Japan promoting her feature film debut in the new sci-fi Battleship, and admits she has always looked up to Whitney and would be honoured to play her on screen.
"I didn't get that call yet," the 'We Found Love' singer said during a press conference for Battleship yesterday (2nd April).
"That would be something that I would have to give my entire life to do because I would want to really pull it off," Rihanna told reporters at the event. "That's a huge, huge role and whoever does it has to do a good job."
The 'Cheers' singer recalled meeting the 'The Bodyguard' star at a music industry event once, and named Whitney as one of her "big music icons".
She added: "The first song that I remember falling in love with was a Whitney Houston song, 'I Will Always Love You'."
Whitney Houston passed away at the start of February at the age of 48.
Last week Rihanna confirmed plans to embark on a new world tour in 2013 after putting aside much of 2012 to focus on her film career.
