Rihanna Attends Grandma's Funeral In New York City With Family

The 'We Found Love' singer was pictured at the wake of her grandma this week in Manhattan, New York.

Rihanna was pictured paying her respects to her grandma Clara Braithwaite yesterday in New York City following her death last weekend (1st July) after a long battle with cancer.

The 'Where Have You Been' singer pulled out of a scheduled appearance at Madrid's Rock In Rio Festival yesterday (5th July) to attend the wake, held at a private funeral home in Manhattan, New York. 

"Dry cry, even tears… Even my heart cry but who cares?!" Rihanna tweeted last night (5th July) following the wake. "Words can't explain the essence of her beauty. You and you alone no other one.

"Girl you keep me warm, u and u alone no other one!" the 'We Found Love' singer added.

Rihanna had a close relationship with her grandma, who she affectionally called Gran Gran Dolly, and cleared her schedule to spend time with her in hospital last month.

Rihanna was in the UK recently filming scenes for her new Sky Living fashion series, which aims to find the next big talent in British fashion design.
