The 'We Found Love' star has reportedly been in secret rehearsals for the event next month.
Rihanna is apparently set to join Coldplay for a rendition of their collaborative hit single 'Princess Of China' at the London 2012 Paralympics closing ceremony.
The 'You Da One' star is reported to have begun secret rehearsals for the show, according to the Daily Star, and was asked to perform as soon as the British band signed up for the show themselves.
"All the Closing Ceremony details are top secret but Rihanna has already started rehearsing," a source told the publication. "As soon as Coldplay signed up she was the obvious choice to accompany them on stage."
The spectacular has been called the 'Festival of Flame' and will see the 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' band play a host of their biggest hits on the night with a cast of 2,000 in the Olympic stadium alongside them.
"The Closing Ceremony is basically a glorified Coldplay concert," added the source. "They will hardly be off stage. "
The band were also apparently offered the chance to perform at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games but turned down the opportunity for their own headline slot at the Paralympics on 9th September.
"They may only be getting paid a £1 to perform but they will make a fortune in royalties as their music flies up the charts afterwards," continued the insider.
Rihanna and Coldplay performed 'Princess Of China' together earlier this year when the artists took to the stage at the Grammy Awards.
Meanwhile, Rihanna is set to make a live return to the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards on 6th September.
One Direction, Green Day and Taylor Swift are also amongst the star perfomrers on the night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
